Pumpkin Carving
Athough the kids weren’t thrilled pulling out the insides of the pumpkins, they sure did enjoy the final product. They had a very festive weekend, too, as those are tattoos on their faces, not dirt.
The Guest House
This being human is a guest house.
Every morning a new arrival.
A joy, a depression, a meanness,
some momentary awareness comes
as an unexpected visitor.
Welcome and entertain them all!
Even if they’re a crowd of sorrows,
who violently sweep your house
empty of its furniture,
still, treat each guest honorably.
He may be clearing you out
for some new delight.
The dark thought, the shame, the malice,
meet them at the door laughing,
and invite them in.
Be grateful for whoever comes,
because each has been sent
as a guide from beyond.

Out on the town
Lily got to go out of town with just Jason and I a few weeks ago. (Shhhh, don’t tell the other five!) She had the time of her life! Watching Jason with her was so amazing and I am so lucky to have him as a life partner!
San Francisco
Austin, Brady, Lily and I headed down to the bay area last week. It was a great way to end our summer vacation!
The Adventures of Rain Dance Maggie by Red Hot Chili Peppers
I LOVE the Red Hot Chili Peppers, with them in my Top 5, but I think my #1 is still U2. I know Katie is not a huge fan, but hey, that’s why we work and we embrace each other’s differences, although she may substitute “faults” 🙂 So, here are the Chili Peppers doing their imitation of U2’s Where the Streets Have No Name, with the Chili Pepper’s latest single The Adventures of Rain Dance Maggie. And, what’s with Maggie getting yet another song about her???
This is a must watch video.
